A very large Grunt, or a very small Mag? These creatively named Agents share some of the tremendous durability of the larger Mag Agent while managing to be somewhat agile. Far more dangerous than they look.
Not sure why they're not leveling their Melee beyond Core: Melee 2. The best I can recommend is to find one that uses Melee as their secondary skill. And yes, it's intentional for them to swing every weapon like a Truly Massive weapon - those swings get several times faster once they unlock Core: Melee 3. At that point, they'll start striking much, much faster.
I will probably adjust Half-Mag Hirelings to have a much faster sweeping swing once they've reached Core: Melee 2, but for now, that slow melee attack is one of the things that Half-Mags do. If you want to circumvent their swing speed, try giving them dual-wielded melee weapons.
plus the new behavior tweaks are a huge plus as well, especially watching hirelings actually swap out weapons properly and I've had good luck with hirelings properly using throwables, though my halfmag often got confused and would swap to his machete mid halberd swing, restart the swing, and then just completely miss lmao
and also had some sick ass armor from the getgo too so there's that on top
friendship ended with hadwin, now sergi is my best friend
