Nice, by the way I couldn't find any info on this nor did I get an answer on the mod page itself but what exactly is the difference between some of the mechs and their advanced versions, I never managed to figure it out, for example the fireworm and incinerator seemed to be the exact same but the incinerator was more expensive despite not being any stronger in any way, at least any I could think of as their stats seemed the exact same when I tried to compare them in game and even as I look here they get the same exact values between the normal and supposedly advanced variant so I'm really not sure what I'm exactly missing here and I feel I might just be dumb at this point.

Well the biggest difference is advanced mechs can use cover while regular mechs just stand out in the open. Though obviously with your own mechs you can always manually force them into cover. But yeah, some of them do still have stat differences though they’re generally minor. I’m not certain if these alpha mechs all have stat differences. Some of them do, for example the dominion and eviscerator do more melee damage. I’d have to check the xml for the other ones. They might be something minuscule like a 0.5 increase in movement speed or something.

I get the ones that do more damage but the others.. that hardly seems worth making at all due to the increased resources to make plus extra bandwidth needed to control them just for something barely noticeable at all.

Alright I just had a look for you and here are the differences between non advanced and advanced (this is in base Alpha Mechs, not including my mod):

Dominion:
40%/20% armor --> 50%/30% (AI version only) (I feel like this is an oversight)
4.7 move speed --> 5.1 (AI version only)
1.5 health scale --> 1.85 (player controlled version only)
23 damage --> 33 (player controlled version only)
(My mod brings the AI version up to 33 damage too)

Eviscerator:
4.7 move speed --> 5.2
0.8 health scale --> 1.0 (player controlled version only)
6 damage --> 9 (player controlled version only)

Incinerator:
10 melee damage --> 15 (player controlled version only)
4 health scale --> 5 (player controlled version only)

Colossus:
2.5 move speed --> 2.9 (player controlled version only)
17 melee damage --> 21 (player controlled version only)
4.6 health scale --> 5.5 (player controlled version only)

Hoplite:
18 melee damage --> 26 (player controlled version only)
3.75 health scale --> 4.5 (player controlled version only)

Siegemaster:
1 move speed --> 1.5 (player controlled version only)
3 health scale --> 4.5 (player controlled version only)

I see! Thank you for looking for the differences, I didn't realize there'd be difference between enemy mechs and player controlled ones, would it be too much if your mod could make it so both player controlled and hostile mechs had the same (and better) stats? Assuming it doesn't already do that of course.
Nishe  [developer] 30 Jul, 2024 @ 7:07am
Yeah I may add that in. For the stats that my mod changes, I applied them equally to both AI and player versions, but any stats I didn't touch can still have differences between the two.
i feel like the legate should get a shield buff considering the centurion has a better shield then it
Nishe  [developer] 8 Jul @ 1:47am
@interloper Fair point. I don't play with Alpha Mechs much so I didn't pick up on the fact that the legate's role/purpose is basically "a centurion, but better". Buff incoming
Nishe  [developer] 8 Jul @ 7:28am
Update:
- Buffed the Legate's shield massively, from 650 hp up to 1600 hp to reflect its role as a higher tech and more expensive version of the centurion.
- Also buffed the recharge rate of its shield to 4 hp/sec, matching that of the centurion.
- Buffed the mech gestation cooldown of the War Empress to 15 sec down to 9.3 sec., slightly longer than that of the War Queen.
- Increased the amount of plasteel the War Empress carries from 500 to 800.
- Decreased cooldown of the Empress's sniper turret from 4.5 sec to 2 sec to match the higher lethality of other mech commander turrets.
