How did you accidentally sink a battleship?
Once you put the Iowa in at sea in any Map in the Editor, check Attributes of all the AI in the Ship and make them playable. Check "Player" for the Commander, for example.
Under Attributes(Scenario) check "enable teamswitch". Host it in Singleplayer and voilà.
PS: and NEVER turn or move the ship via Editor or Zeus(except movin it manually with the remote controlled driver) - chances are high you ungroup the ship's objects and leave it in unrepairable disarray(ship statics do not delete in editor or zeus, only the guns do!)
