Walkthrough (Spoilers)
Prison
You wake up in a cage. Break loose three bars in order to open it and then jump down.

On a box just left of where you land you can find a cautionary note.

Continuing in that direction, you can spot an unfortunate creature and an ominous trail leading away from it.

Keep going in that direction until you see the exit.

Unfortunately the opening mechanism is missing a lever. It can be found a little bit to the right of the exit, next to the Ghoul Note.

After you've picked up the lever, interact with the opening mechanism to insert it. Then simply pull the lever to open the door.

Walk through the exit and you will see a portal. Enter it and you'll find yourself in the Hub Area.

Hub Area
The Hub Area consists of a large platform that houses four portals, as well as some machinery and levers to open a big door.

To open the door you need to solve puzzles in the three areas you still haven't explored.

By the levers at the far end of the platform, you can find Diary Fragment 3/3 and an alien tablet explaining why the big door is sealed.

The areas you can access from the Hub Area are the Prison, Lab, Reactor and Library.

At the moment, you will find that the Library is inaccessible. The door is locked and there is no opening mechanism to be found.

Feel free to explore the other two areas in any order.

Reactor
The Reactor puzzle is deceptively simple.

If you walk around the area, you will notice that it consists of three sections.

Two of these are glowing in blue and "solved". Your task is to solve the red section. A hint can be found in the form of an alien tablet at the top of the stairs.

You need to match the power output levels with the solved sections. In other words, you need to fill the tubes with 4, 4, and 0 segments respectively.

Use the two cables to transfer fluid between tubes. Pull the lever in order to confirm the direction of the flow, e.g. to move fluid from the right tube to the left, move the lever to the left.

If you want the entire solution, do as follows:

Now pull on the handle at the top of the stairs to confirm the fluid levels. If they are correct, the color changes from red to blue.

With the puzzle solved, head back to the Hub Area. If you missed it, you can read Diary Fragment 1/3 by one of the solved sections on your way out.

Lab
Right after entering the Lab, you can find Diary Fragment 2/3 on a box to your left.

Ahead of you there is a big cylinder containing a talkative brain. Approach it and initiate conversation to start solving the Lab puzzle, and to learn some additional lore.

The brain tells you that you need to find a Memory Sphere in order to proceed. It can be found at the far end of the Lab, in the vicinity of three alien tablets detailing the process of creating a gruesome tincture.

In the same area, by a mummified creature, you can also pick up Laudanum x 2.

After returning the Memory Sphere to the brain, it will unlatch the Conduit you need for the Hub Area puzzle.

Unfortunately, taking the Conduit causes an emergency lockdown of the Lab area and you can't exit where you originally came from. To make matters worse, the red door opens and a Ghoul starts patrolling the area!

Now you need to sneak back to the place where you found the Memory Sphere.

You'll notice that a crawlspace is now accessible by turning a wheel, but it's too high up for you to reach. Thankfully, there are many boxes nearby that you can stack in order to reach the wheel.

Try to do so quietly as noise will attract the Ghoul. You can also use noise to your advantage, by throwing small objects to temporarily lure the Ghoul away from your position.

After stacking enough boxes, clear the ledge in front of the crawlspace and turn the wheel.

Now you need to hurry - turning the wheel alerts the Ghoul to your position and you have to make a quick escape in order to not get caught.

Library
Upon exiting the crawlspace, you'll find yourself inside the Library.

The center of the Library contains a puzzle made up of three rings covered with symbols that need to align in a certain way.

Scattered along the upper floor are three alien tablets that contain riddles. The answer to the riddles tell you which symbols are needed to solve the puzzle.

If you get stuck on solving them, the answers are as follow:

  • Riddle 1: Fire
  • Riddle 2: Death
  • Riddle 3: Time

Now that you have the answers, you will need to find out which symbols correspond to them. Luckily someone has dropped parts of a cipher in various places in the Library. After picking the cipher pieces up, you can access them and the riddles in your notebook by pressing N.

Simply match each answer with a symbol in the cipher, then use the three wheels on the upper level to align the correct symbols. Please note that the order of the riddles don't necessarily correspond with the order of the ring symbols!

Once you have the correct symbols lined up, pull the lever to lock them in place.

A compartment containing an Identification Canister now opens up and you can grab it. You will need it for the Hub Area puzzle.

Have you taken any damage? Then a bottle of Laudanum can be found under one of the staircases.

Exit the Library through the now openable door to find yourself back in the Hub Area.

Opening the big door
At this point you should have a Conduit, an Identification Canister and have powered up the opening mechanism.

Insert the Conduit and Identification Canister in their respective slots.

Then pull down the two levers at the end of the platform and wait for the door to open.

Now you are finally able to leave the vicious place behind you and go back to the portal that leads to your home world.
