One thing I would suggest is scattering some lore around the map.
ripped newspapers, blood-soaked journal entries, blueprints of the mechanical beast that we're trying to (perhaps foolishly) revive.
I love it when maps have lore scattered around, really makes it the place feel more alive.

They should put some of the "doll" cosmetic models like the pocket medic scattered around the map.
