WEEK ONE MOD
I'm happy to announce that works on Week One has begun couple of days ago.

After releasing Day One, one of the repeating feedback I got was that it could last longer. Initially it seemed that all that needs to be done is to reprogram the events of Day One so that they occur the whole week instead of just one day. However it don't think it would be interesting without bringing anything new to the table. And after implementing NPC crowds and all possible weapons of mass destruction including nuclear strike with tons of special effects, I started to think what novelty is there left to introduce.

And I think I found it.

Week One will put player 2-3 days BEFORE the outbreak. The player will be able to immerse into the normal pre-apocalyptic life with other NPC civilians. I will not give you many spoilers yet, but the civilians will not simply stand or walk, they will do more meaningful things that you can witness.

Next, there will be a period where zombie virus symptoms are observed. First symptoms will be discreet, last symptoms very intense. And by symptoms I don't mean zombification yet. The player and few other civilians will remain immune. At this stage the government does not interfere yet, only local services such as paramedics.

After that phase, the civilians will begin to gradually zombify. The process will speed up rapidly. This is when the government will begin to introduce measures known from Day One. You can expect more less the same thing here, but I'm sure I will bring something new here too.

After that phase the government gives up and anarchy period starts. This will be when the Bandits emerge.

I hope you like it, feedback and ideas appreciated.

The only thing thing I newd to crack is cars. Pre apocalypse world without people driving cars is odd

Slayer,If you follow the logic, then cars are a separate construct not originally planned in the source code, and added as an add-on after a while, I guess to work with vehicles need a separate library extending the functionality to interact with them, although through debug you can see what code is used in the same multiplayer when players interact with vehicles but as we know vehicles work there to put it mildly badly

The problem is that all code that governs vehicles depends on the player being the driver. If the Player is not in the driving seat it will not work. I can change vehicle parts, colors, turn engine, alarm but cant do anything to move it.

And Yes the code was added later with other physics but its inaccessible from API.

By the way, what if during this "pre-epidemic" simulation, players'd be able to work somehow? FOr example, if you're a doctor? you may be given a task like going to a certain place (wich can be marked the same way as a bandit group indicator bubble on the screen) and heal someone who got injured, then you can either continue working or something like that.

If the player chooses a police officer occupation, then they'll be able to get a task to go on some crime scene and there'll be a shootout or something like that (wich bandits are already capable of doing).

Not sure if that'd job/quest system in "Week one" mod would be hard to code, but it'd be nice to see in the mod for sure. Pre-apocalypse is normal life, so there could be jobs AKA simple tasks to do then

Would it be possible to insert protests? Like, civilians not knowing what's really going on and simply going against the authorities, who didn't want to tell them what was going on to avoid more panic in the population? For example, as the virus spreads and the news about the authorities shooting people for no reason when they are, in fact, zombies and for the population, innocent people
