I just think it's a bit much for the entire bomb inventory of the United States Air Force to be dropped endlessly on a random farmhouse in the middle of nowhere for hours on end
This way, the player can clear an area for a base and it doesn't get carpet bombed while trying to set up defenses against the biker gang day two, and the rest of the overrun towns get blasted as you would expect
It also would solve the issue of a million explosions going off in the middle of the forest or a empty parking lot
My main problem with explosions happening only on nearby cells is that once u drive for a minute or two you go from active warzone to clean and nice suburbs. Though I understand this is a Zomboid limitation more than anything
Maybe after the bombs have stopped, there could be something like a meta story event for bombed areas in other cells?
A similar problem related to the bombing is also the NPC spawns. They naturally always have to spawn within the player cell, but the chance of them spawning doesn't seem to change depending on the region. So, despite being in a remote location, dozens of police, survivors, and military still spawned at the relay station when you'd expect there to be significantly less, if any at all.
this should work
