pgamesfood tips if this mod seems too hard
hi if this mod seems too hard at first, keep trying :)

but just in case you want to make it bit easier, here are some things that helped me, at least in the first few times, until i got to understand the mod some more:

0 (some of this might sound a bit cheaty but you can always tweak things to make it harder after practising a bit, and id' actually recommend these easier settings if you were about to stop playing because it was too hard at first.)

1) lowering the mod settings for bandits in general, so that they can only shoot you from minimum tiles away can help you so you dont get shot from random strangers off screen. (i set mine i think to 8 tiles so that i have more chance to actually see who is trying to attack me)

2) use the cheat mod in 2 ways:

2a) set carry weight to infinite (this just lets you grab whatever you can that you think will be useful, until you learn more about the mod)
+
2b) set option of "prevent death" (this is just so that you will still see yourself getting injuries, wounds, and lodged bullets etc, but you can manually restart the game yourself, if you feel that you dont have enough medicines to stop bleeding, or enough time to treat yourself, you can count it as a loss, but with a bit of extra time / leeway :o)

3) play with some energy drink mods.
(these will let you have a chance to find more things to keep you awake, so that you have a fighting chance in case a bunch of bandits try to bash you while you sleep - which is especially important if you felt that you managed to play really well to survive Day One, only to get killed in your sleep etc)

4) turn off Fire Spread.
(not only can this save some fps/lag, but it actually seems to make the current level of air-dropped missiles ok) - yes there are still tons of houses etc turned into debris but at least only the things that are hit get damaged, and not a continuous fire.

5) as you start to be able to survive more and more days, you can always tweak the settings to make it gradually more difficult for you, until you can play this mod like a Veteran zomboider :O)

6) there are also some ways (/mods) which let you use any gun, to repair a different gun.
for example if you find a machine gun which is damaged, and for example having 4/20 durability, you could use a spare shotgun or something at 6/20 durability, to use it up as spare parts, to repair your machine gun back to around 10/20 durability.

7) there are also some mods which add Turrets to the game
(its probably best to spawn in a motion sensor or home alarm, as i dont think those actually spawn in game, or you can roleplay it so that if you find a screwdriver, and manage to obtain some electronics scrap, you can drop some wood, a gun, some ammo and the electronics, and spawn in 1 turret) :o)

+ to make the mod even harder, maybe there is a way to use that mod which makes all zombies have a chance of resurrecting after some time but i havent tried that yet.

Guys i admire your creativity and knowledge of the mods, but here is my advice that does not involve adding extra mods or adding extra handicaps, instead use come tactics:

1) zombies are your friends when the gang comes
2) fire is your friend when the gang comes
3) friendly npcs are there to help you
4) yes you can escape, cars?
and several more
