I think Rations should deconstruct into 6-7 Protein Bars, as each cost 29m, and the Rations item is 200m.

Add gold as most valuable commodity perhaps, and a rare encounter to steal some gold perhaps. Model could be a secure metal crate reshaped and with yellow markings on the box maybe

Make it something only rarely found on wrecks in early stage and occasionally obtainable at mining outposts in later areas

What about making gold rep locked like 50 rep and then you can get it on mining stations exclusively and maybe make commodities vary in price depending on the station type so you can plan ahead of time a route where you can buy and sell stuff
