Those greatly impact how quickly ILU evolves the enemy species
A low difficulty base + a weak scaling moon + a colony that isn't aggressively producing/collecting/hoarding would have evolution's be _VERY_ slow

My game settings are
Region: Saltu
Moon: Concordia
Difficulty: Medium
at year ten I do get full on hoards attacking but to be specific they just don't get past my defense. I do have a Nova Cannon mods as well. (maybe those are too strong?) The thing is they cap at a certain number maybe around 200 units? but its the combination and their HP that bothers me. mostly beatles only and those poison fat mushroom insect things, rarely a full hoard of dino-alien monsters.
I have the mod as well that is suppose to scale their difficulty and make them adapt after each completed wave but not to avail, they still never get past my defense.
Maybe my expectations are a bit too high --- I dont have the DLC btw. Are they suppose to at least get tankier?

Medium Difficulty:

Chaos Moon:

Insane Moon:
resource threat x3
building threat x3
This means 1 "raw" threat (Say from 50 units of raw red meat) creates:
On Concordia/Medium 0.3 threat
With Chaos/Insane 3 threat
Which means your (3jack) base will need 10x more "stuff" to see the same level of evolutions and stronger threats that Wedge is seeing
