Research Records
octo's adventures in compatibility and bugfixing
been gathering a posse to check out the mod and experiment with it and I will post some stuff here ^^

According to localidiot7571, mechinator research requirements can be bypassed (e. you don't need a mechinator to research basic mechtech). I wonder if the same applies to race-locked research from HAR, so I'll test that out myself >.>

It seems like everything involving techprints is a little busted as well, with transcribing yielding random results for projects that have techprints. Issue only applies to techprint research specifically

To clarify the issues persist in weird ways even when the settings toggle is correct, will look into this more

Continued exploring, getting closer to get it to work on more modded lists as well ^^

Pawns that have intellectual can still try to read manuals, but nothing occurs except for an error
I noticed that the research projects list showing what each pawn knows feels a bit complicated and unclear. So I suggest redesigning it to resemble the global research tab, but tailored individually for each pawn. This would help players better track and control each pawn’s learning direction.

As for books, it’s frustrating that pawns either read them randomly or require manual orders every time. I suggest linking book reading to the research projects assigned to each pawn, so a pawn will only read books that are related to a specific research task defined by the player.

This could also help reduce errors that sometimes occur in the book creation process.
For example: if Pawn 1 is assigned to create a knowledge book, and after it finishes Pawn 2 comes along, it would be better to have Pawn 2 read the book resulting from the original task description, instead of picking a book by name. I’ve noticed that sometimes the produced book titles don’t exactly match the project or description.

An additional suggestion is to ensure that the research name shown in the pawn’s research list is directly tied to the description or result of the book creation task, so that what the pawn learns is always correctly recorded and linked. This could help minimize inconsistencies.

Apologies if anything I said came off the wrong way. I'm not a programmer and I have no experience in modding, but I really enjoy this mod and just wanted to share an idea that might help.
Or try combining it with Life Lessons.
