Hearts of Iron IV

Hearts of Iron IV

The Fire Rises
Am I the only one finding this mod a little bit too overwhelming?
I have tried a couple times playing as Japan, France and the USA but there a too many type of techs, different issues such as economical crisis, Covid, Saudi civil war. It is just too much at once and I get demolished by the AI due to the overwhelming new mechanics, division types and such.

I really want to like this mod but it is just as much of a pain to learn as other mods such as TNO. I understand however that others will enjoy this mod for that reason. I do hope maybe some guides/tips will be released in the near future.

I will still give it another shot tomorrow regardless ^^

I have to agree with this statement, too much going on

Yep, this is why sometimes simplicity makes the best mod

Yea, I.m so overwhelmed with the civil war that its hard to focus on what exactly I should be doing to win. An I'm not sure if I'm supposed to rely so heavily on militia to win but to also somehow rebuild an entire economy before the communists declare war.

Yeah, it seems the devs couldn't focus on one thing and just added a bunch of random stuff. I also think the UI gives me a headache.

And the worst part it has a lot of potential but like with other mods such as TNO and Millennium Dawn they overcomplicate it. That’s why mods that stick with the usual HOI4 UIs such as Kaiserreich, Red Flood, Road to 56, Red Dusk and so on.

Would be such a good mod if they found a balance like Old World Blues did

Yeah, if they went a balanced form instead of the extreme it would have a bit more nuance and be less edgy.

Yeah, the edgy stuff is kind of what they are going for but the UI and balancing ruins the mod for most

Honestly, they just tried to add too many random features and new unit types and fit into such a small amount of time, have to play at one speed to even know whats going on.
