In the past, if you wanted to start a specific map in the first chapter of the game, you could simply modify the chapter1.cfg file and insert the name of the desired map. This worked perfectly, but with the latest version of Half-Life 2, which also includes Episode One and Episode Two, things have changed.

Now, when you load a mod from the Workshop, the chapter1.cfg file is applied to all three chapters (HL2, Episode One, and Episode Two). The problem is that, due to this behavior, the same map is always loaded for all three chapters, even if the mod was intended for Half-Life 2 only.

In practice, it’s no longer possible to load different maps depending on the selected chapter because the modification to the chapter1.cfg file is applied globally, causing confusion.

So this can't be fixed?

I've created a fix by removing the config file and renaming "lol.bsp" to "d1_trainstation_01.bsp". Doing this will remove cubemaps at first but I've recompiled the map properly for it to work if you'd like that version!
