Arma 3
Enhanced MAAWS for RHS
Which rounds for what? - ASM stands for...
ASM stands for Arma Super Master... nope. it's joke.

This thread will explain which ammunition plays which role, based on the SAAB official page.
https://www.saab.com/products/carl-gustaf-m4
Please note that these are real-life roles, and may not necessarily have the same effect in-game.
Also, don't forget that explanations are also available by hovering the mouse over the in-game inventory.

AMMO - Targets for

HE 441 - Protected and unprotected enemies, and soft‑skinned vehicles
Originally posted by SAAB:
HE 441D can be fired to detonate on point targets using the impact mode or as an airburst against area targets by setting the desired range.

HEDP 502 - Armoured vehicles, and enemies protected by structures and bunkers
Originally posted by Zantza (in this mod):
Weakest wall penetration. If it penetrates, decent blast effect and fragmentation inside. If it is used against a thick wall, it is better to leave it in impact mode, to utilise the normal HEAT function. Blast effect inside will however be limited.
Originally posted by SAAB:
This fin-stabilised, high-explosive, dual-purpose round is optimised for fighting in built-up areas. It is as effective against armoured vehicles as it is against enemies protected by structures like sandbags, brick and wooden walls. The round has both an impact and a delay mode.

HEAT 551 - Armoured vehicles and MBTs
Originally posted by SAAB:
The rocket-assisted HEAT 551 allows dismounted soldiers to defeat the majority of armoured vehicles and MBTs in side or rear aspect.

HEAT 751 - Armoured vehicles and MBTs with ERA
Originally posted by SAAB:
The tandem warhead of HEAT 751 neutralises explosive reactive armour (ERA) tiles fitted to a target. It then initiates the HEAT warhead to penetrate the target's main armour.

ASM 509 - "Anti-Structure Munition" Structures and enemies protected by structures, and light-armoured vehicles
Originally posted by Zantza (in this mod):
Can penetrate a slightly thicker wall than the HEDP 502. Massive blast effect inside, if it penetrates. Use impact mode to outright collapse the target building (may require more than one hit).
Originally posted by SAAB:
The enhanced explosive of ASM 509 neutralises enemy troops in buildings and structures through high-pressure blast effects. The round can be fired in two modes; Impact Mode (I) for destroying walls or light-armoured vehicles, or Delay Mode (D) for defeating enemies behind walls or fortifications.

MT 756 - "Multi Target" Structures, bunkers (and light-armoured vehicles in real)
Originally posted by Zantza (in this mod):
Strongest wall penetration - it can penetrate even very thick walls. Good blast effect and fragmentation inside. The MT 756 in the mod won't probably kill armored vehicles reliably, since it's configured for wall penetration rather than anti-tank. This is due to a limitation with how the subMunition-system works.
Originally posted by SAAB:
The tandem warhead of MT 756 will neutralise enemy troops inside a building or behind a structure. It is also powerful enough to take out light-armoured vehicles.

SMOKE 469C - Smoke *WIP
Originally posted by SAAB:
SMOKE 469C is an effective tool for blinding and screening targets, and spotting missions. The round provides a significant amount of instant smoke upon impact.

ILLUM 545C - Illumination
Originally posted by SAAB:
ILLUM 545C offers dismounted troops the ability to illuminate the battlefield during operations in the dark

Thanks for compiling this. The descriptions here are accurate to the mod, with one exception. The MT 756 in the mod won't probably kill armored vehicles reliably, since it's configured for wall penetration rather than anti-tank. This is due to a limitation with how the subMunition-system works.

One thing that none of the real documentation doesn't address much: what is actually the difference in wall penetration between the HEDP, ASM and MT rounds? In the mod, this is how it works:

HEDP 502: Weakest wall penetration. If it penetrates, decent blast effect and fragmentation inside. If it is used against a thick wall, it is better to leave it in impact mode, to utilise the normal HEAT function. Blast effect inside will however be limited.

ASM 509: Can penetrate a slightly thicker wall than the HEDP 502. Massive blast effect inside, if it penetrates. Use impact mode to outright collapse the target building (may require more than one hit).

MT 756: Strongest wall penetration - it can penetrate even very thick walls. Good blast effect and fragmentation inside.
