In the room after the courtyard, the vase to the right (golden key puzzle) is breakable. Happened to me on accident.

Second level, one of the blue vases can be destroyed. Happened to my brother and I. Cant finish the riddle.

Hi guys - so sorry, my laptop had a factory reset recently and it seems all the files are saved in local drive, so I can't edit the room anymore :(

I got confused at the date we first met section. Looking at your walkthrough, it looks like the answer is in the format of yymdd? Was that specified anywhere? I was trying to do ddmyy and mddyy. I also thought the year was 19 since the poster said year of the rat 20 which I thought to mean something like 2020 (but obviously in ancient times so like year 120 or something) and so I thought the year of the pig was year 19.

Thanks for your query! I realised it could be a little too culture-dependent so I think I will make it simpler and more generic next time. Anyway, let me explain the puzzle here:


1. The date format convention in Chinese is actually year-month-day. The clue to this is the posters on the wall which states "Year of Rat (year), Spring (month) 20 (day)".


2. How to derive the password for "the date we first met" (12915) -

The current year is Year of Ox (clue is the ox figurine found in the box on the shelf). They met 2 years ago (clue is from the diary entry in the drawer), so looking at the lunar calendar zodiac animals chart (found on the table), 2 years before Ox is the Year of Pig. The Zodiac story stated that Rat was first, and if you count the sequence, the Pig is 12th. Hence, Year is Pig = 12

Next, the month. The landscape on the wall near the shelf wrote that it was late autumn when they met. Autumn is during the month of 7 - 9 (clue is the calendar chart found on the table), so late autumn is = 9.

The day they met is mid-month (clue is from the diary entry in the drawer) = 15.

So the date that they first met is 12915.
