At list I can't see.
Main reason to rescue them - it is possibility to assign high quality pilots on another ships.
So, to transfer them from somewhere to new ship.
I'd love to be able to collect all abandoned pilots, not just my own.
Make it profitable or have value:
Enemy (based on standing) can be "Prisoners", which are stored in the Brig (automatic generate based on crew limit, 20%).
Options:
1. Allow me to Press-Gang (convert) them to crew/marines.
2. When I dock to a station hostile them as well, I get bounties, that match their skill levels.
Friendly, are "Survivors", which are stored in "Rescue Quarters" automatically generated w/ limit available cargo space. 2m3 per person + open crew spaces.
Options:
1. Recruit them (IE i pay some compensation to recruit them), same price as maybe filling crew when refitting?)
2. When I dock to a non-player station, they pay me a taxi fee + reward. possibly even special mission's triggered for specific station delivery? [functionally, they can go poof after delivery]
