why SP&S is only SP

hey guys! so im saying that SP is SP&S well its just a name they just do but they were famous for there trains so just to say that is weird that SP is SP&S for a reason but let me know if this could be right

I'm sorry... what? Spokane, Portland & Seattle is NOT the Southern Pacific. The SP&S was made by the Great Northern and the Northern Pacific.

You would be incorrect, the steam locomotives on SP&S never once had their tenders lettered "Southern Pacific". And SP&S wasn't created by Southern Pacific. Both Great Northern and Northern Pacific were SP&S's parent companies as those railroads created SP&S.
