NPC Radio Interaction

Greetings lads. I saw this fact in mod description, so how I can interact with them through radio?

You can click on walky talky and choose option " Contact nearby survivor’s" but in my testing this did not work even if NPCs base is near. I still do not know why.
To use the radio you need to set the frequency to one npcs use. I cant remember which one it is and I never tried it.
