EDIT: Apparently the game expects those definitions only in a file specifically called countries_l_english.yml. If you put a file called that in your mod folder, it works. So if you really want to change country names you need to use that file name. It would clash with other mods that change names (the last mod loaded would win the naming rights race), but there's apparently not much you can do if you want to do name changes.
1) more diplomatic options with the monarchist tree, rather than just "conquer all of these people". For instance maybe an option to ally with either the allies or axis.
2) an option to ally and eventually diplomatically merge your country with Britain if both of you go monarchist and pick Edward VIII
3) some silly alternative monarchist options that could be fun. Something like the exiled French or Spanish kings. Maybe Habsburgs too.
4) please please PLEASE either remove or tone down the RNG elements of the congress mechanic. I cannot begin to describe how annoying it is to get cucked out of an early 2-Ocean-Navy-Act because you rolled bad RNG on the congress events.
5) option to setup various puppets with roleplay names. For example, if playing monarchist and you defeat the allies and take all of their South East Asian possessions, maybe an option to merge all of those territories with Philippines to form a Grand Duchy of Indochina, or Viceroyalty of the East Indies. Something along those lines. Similar situation for African territories, being given the option to release large regions as puppets equivalent to what colonial powers did irl (a good example is Italy being able to form Italian East Africa, or Britain with the Dominion of North America.)
6) Granting statehood to Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska would stop them from declaring independence during the civil war, but for balance, granting them statehood would be more expensive. Doesn't really make sense in my opinion for Puerto Rico to declare independence if they're a state. At the very least it should influence their decision.
7) not being given claims on seceded/stolen territories, as it makes the country in question have a huge opinion debuff. Boosting relations with Hawaii to the point where they will accept re-unification is very difficult because they have a -40 debuff for claiming their land. Seeing as you get a war goal for that territory anyway if they refuse this doesn't really make sense from a gameplay standpoint. Perhaps also you could have an option to offer things in return for taking back territories - temporarily giving resource rights or paying civ factories to the country in question, for instance. And for Hawaii and Puerto Rico, promising to build a certain amount of industry in them, and if you don't after however many years, they will secede again.
Apologies for the essay, lol. This is a great mod and I have a lot of thoughts about it. If that wasn't obvious.
1. Allow him to be a general while being the country leader
2. An option to return to democracy (Somewhere around 1944)
3. Make the war powers act work without silver shirt support
