Project Zomboid Sandbox Settings for “10 Years Later Mod”
Base Preset: 6 Months Later

Ideal to begin adjusting settings.

Months Since the Apocalypse: 12 months later

Reflects a fully deteriorated world where society has long collapsed.

Start Month: July

Anniversary of when the apocalypse began.

Zombies

Population: Normal

Balanced zombie density for exploration and survival.

Population Multiplier, Start Multiplier, Peak Multiplier: 0.3

Knox Country's rural population is accurately represented.

Respawn: Zero

Eliminates the need for repeated clearing; hordes and bandits maintain challenge.

Loot

Days Until Max Looted Building Chance: 1 Days Until Maximum Diminished Loot: 1
Resources are quickly depleted, reinforcing realism.

Perishable Food: 0

All perishable food is spoiled, as expected after 10 years.

All Other Loot: 0.4

Limited supplies, balanced around looted world, add to the tension and encourage scavenging.

Alarm Battery Decay: Instant

Non-functional alarms at this point.

Initial Gas Pump Amount: 0 Initial Gas Pump Empty Chance: 100

Gasoline either looted or has gone stale in poorly stored conditions.

Erosion Days: 1 World overgrowth reflects a decade of neglect.

Maximum Vermin Index: 50 Lowered to balance high rat spawn.

Evolving Traits World - Systems

Rewards combat and reflects someone who has survived 10 years in the apocalypse.

Herbalist: Turned off

Can be gotten from magazine.

Bandits General

Plank/Metal Sheet Removal: Turned off

If they don't have the items, they'll have to resort to smashing.

Minimum Weapon Aiming Time: 30

Ensures bandit accuracy is realistic.

Bandit Global Accuracy: "Can't hit the broad side of a barn"

Bandit Base/Camp hourly spawn chance: 0 Not needed with current clan settings, under testing.

Balances difficulty for fair encounters.

Bandit Clans / Bandit Extra Options

Bandits have been highly customized using the base settings and Extra options. They won't spawn with vehicles, very rarely have guns, and you'll never spot more than one at once. They will also spawn basically rarely but forever. It's recommended to view the Sandbox Settings file to better understand Bandit changes.
