If not, perhaps some mechanic to limit their use? The Short-Sighted Trait is completely defeated by contacts if you never need to remove them. You get free trait points if you spawn and find them in a bathroom right away, since you'd never have to worry about losing or breaking glasses.
I'm not sure how much is too much to ask but at minimum I think you shouldn't be able to sleep with them in or doing so causes irritation. I've consulted contact wearers in my family to double check but the conventional wisdom is you need take them out before you sleep.
I also think that wearing them for an extended period like 12-24 hours or maybe a little more if we're being forgiving would cause some sort pain or irritation until you take them out and clean them.
I'm not sure how receptive you are to adding new items or mechanics but cleaning solution and a contacts case makes sense for this.
Edit: After writing this, I found this in the comments: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3420760270 it's not perfect but it's a start. Also, thank you for this much needed contacts mod!
This is seen by hovering over the stats on the Investigate Area window; while wearing regular glasses there is a -2.5% clothing penalty applied but if they are not on there is the much bigger -2 from bonus radius subtracted for the short-sited trait.
I do have the mod that adds discomfort so not 100% sure if that could effect this Foraging detail or not. All that would also lead me to wonder if the contacts negate the 'weapon sight debuff' like glasses are supposed to.
