Game crashing on start
I copied and pasted the load order into my mod manager and only have 189 mods enabled same as the collection but it still crashes on start up.

same here, imported the collection and it switched to 191 mods but still crashes on startup

The latest hotfix broke something somewhere with SFO, maybe.

Fixed it for me by doing this: copied the link to the collection, in WH3MM under more options clicked import collect, then imported it into a preset with explicit load order. Now works fine.

make sure you select the preset as well in the main screen, top right

This works - the key part being ensuring that you tick the explicit load order box when importing the steam collection the WH3 mod manager for the correct order.
