IDEA: disallow echoes from being placed too close to each other
some people have apparently been placing strings of random words or profane messages on other people's echoes, thereby making the original echo unreadable. i think this would, if not stop it completely, slow it down a lot

That is already a feature. Or, at least, is supposed to be. I'm investigating how it's possible to bypass it.
