How to protect from airborne? -
You need to find a face protection like as bandage gas mask, you can find it on location or either on zombies and also you can do face mask with ripped sheets and you need to desinfect it like on instructions: https://imgur.com/VeuMON0

Why its so a little of loot?
You can find much of loot like food, weapons and etc only in big locations its a good sistem so you cant just sit in 1 small town you nedd to visit new locations which are dangerous sometimes.

So basically you need to load maps/tiles for maps first, so they wouldnt crash the game and wont be invisible in game.
After you can load mods in whatever order you like!

That's still kinda vague, also, are there conflicting mods in this? Trying to host a server, am i supposed to just auto enable all or what?

About conflicting mods you can watch in "IMPORTANT" i describe there all lua error i can find, so i think you can auto enable mods, but you should watch for mods which can repeat.

Hello. Would it be possible myself to remove VFE and other vanilla related gun mods and just add Brita's weapon pack instead?
