Great visuals. The apocalypse feel is enhanced in ways like the earthquake. I like the extra FX like rocks/debris falling. Most of the visuals are great, but it's easy to make a map feel clunky once you notice the basic gameplay mechanics falling flat.

There are however things that can be fixed that can make this great. This is based of 2 attempts at normal survival gameplay. I think this has great potential, it just needs things like this fixed to make the experience not feel clunky.

The gameplay loop:

-The mystery box trigger is very unreliable. It's easy to hit the box, but the trigger for picking up the weapon is wierdly placed, so many times I couldn't get the weapon.

-The jumping jacks either have too much health, or the hitbox is really small. It feels like I miss my shots most of the time despite shooting directly at them. They are fast and can easily overwhelm you. This they shouldn't have too much health.

-There should be revive icons on downed players.

-Since this map is made for BO2, it doesn't work well with the risk/reward feel because the fall damage is almost nonexistent in BO3. I think since this is die rise, the fall damage could be changed for it to be like BO2. Why else would PHD flopper be in the map?

-Despite the great atmospherical feel with the earthquake happening occasionally, it shouldn't slow down the player. Just have the visual effect and the sound and it'll be good. Slowing down the player randomly really disrupts the gameplay flow. It gets annoying.


Other things that should be fixed:

-The soundaliases are not great on certain things like the sliquifier in third person is way too high range. Most guns don't sound great in third person.

-The mixing on things like the end of round track for the special round could have a re-work.

-The gameover music didn't play for anyone except the host, however it was really quiet for the host.

-The sounds on the mystery box can barely be heard. Same goes for the EE song teddy bears.

-I didn't check all of them, but the quickrevive elevator shaft is too lit up, I don't think it should be possible to see the bottom of the elevator shaft. It ruins the atmostphere.


Nitpicks: Certain things that are nitpicks can still disrupt the feel if you know the original map well.

-The feel of the weapons, like the starting pistol didn't aim as fast as in BO2.

-Could change the colour of the mystery box light to yellow like in the original. The blue light feels too stock because of BO3 having that in all maps and in stock maps in the mod tools.

-I do think some areas are too dark. I get that it shouldn't be as bright as BO2, but maybe just light up some areas a little bit like the halls going down to the upside down box location.
