Why is there a "STATS?!?!?!" discussion on every cosmetic item in the workshop?

Hats can't have stats. :/

Hats can't have stats. :/

They use to had a bonus effect if you had a set of them, but they were too OP and they were replaced by calling cards which made the set completely useless.
