We experienced a few bugs when some players were one slugcat and other players were another. With creatures disabled, stuff like batnip, cherrybombs, batflies, spears and rocks multiplied, eventually causing a lot of lag (we saw about 80 batflies all gathering around 10 ish batnips). This was with around 6-8ish players
Later when we played with creatures enabled, we saw creatures randomly appearing and duplicating (at the end there were about 15 red lizards in the HI red lizard pit) as well as moving around extremely rapidly
Occasionally we also froze when going through pipes. Slugcat would move through the pipe, but it would freeze at the next screen transition. This would happen for the majority of the people at the same time, and seemed to fix itself at roughly the same time for everyone. Unsure if this is a Capture the pearl thing or a Meadow thing, though, as I've experienced this in normal Meadow
More of a minor thing, but sometimes when throwing pearls into death pits, they failed to respawn until you left and entered the room. The main menu screen was also bugged for the host. The normal campaign select screen was covering all of the Capture the pearl buttons, making it difficult to e.g. select what region you wanted to play in. A feature to select what teams certain people are on, and what shelter is a teams' "base" would also be appreciated :>
We were using current workshop version of Meadow, so version 0.1.3.0, and version 0.0.1 for Capture the pearl. Was unable to get logs from the host, but we have exceptionLog and LogOutput from two players. Am unsure if I am able to attach files on a steam comment, so I will figure out some other way to send them if needed
The first thing you reported is actually one I never experienced. That's concerning to me: in the past, I've experienced that rocks and batflies were underpopulated, not overpopulated. I might need to consider deleting unused items if there are too many of them, or maybe even removing batflies altogether, idk...
Creatures have been a mess. I've made some big improvements (live creatures should no longer dupe in the next update), but creature corpses still duplicate exponentially. This is just a Meadow bug, and it's very frustrating. (I'm still trying to learn how to fix it, but I doubt I'll solve the issue.)
The next update to Rain Meadow will patch the bug that usually causes the screen freezing glitch. If the screen freezes in a pipe like that, it basically just means "critical error." Who knows which error... In my own experience, this has almost always been due Meadow errors totally unrelated to CTP. They happen a lot if there's lag.
"More of a minor thing..." Thank you for putting it so nicely: Yeah, um, pearls either duplicate like crazy or phase out of reality and never return. ...at least I can truthfully say I'm actively working on it...? We'll see how the new pearl code works out...
Menu should be much improved next update; I fixed several bugs there.
The latter two suggestions are planned to be part of a later UI rework. Sadly it might be a while, but they're coming eventually.
Annoyingly, the Watcher made Rain Meadow Story Mode much more unstable... But hopefully I can fix a lot of these bugs within a week. Thanks for the quality summary of some of the countless bugs in this mod!
