fetid glen after aether ridge mayhaps? apparently it was supposed to connect to aether ridge before it got made into a watcher region. I would also love to see torrid desert and desolate tract sometime

Sky islands-Signal spires, right at the very top of communications arrays would be sick

Torrid desert and Badlands can probably connect somewhere around Farm Arrays (that feels the most "arid" to me.)
I'd really REALLY like to see Outer Rim somewhere too. But I have no idea where it could fit logically besides maybe being somewhere in Outer Expanse, even though lore wise it's kind of implied that Outer Expanse is well, a vast expanse beyond the walls.

(Also connecting all the sub regions that Aether Ridge got chopped into back together with gates would be amazing)

Definitely! Might add a custom skywhale ride room to get to the gate perhaps!

I think a cool region gradient would be to connect coral caves/turbulent pump --> rusted wrecks --> torrid desert/badlands.
