❓ Is NWeather the "Stormfox 3"?
No. This is a frequent question, as many users mistakenly refer to
NWeather[osgmod.com] as “Stormfox 3”. Neither a sequel nor an update of Stormfox 1 or 2, NWeather is a totally independent add-on, based on a different logic and architecture.

Although the objectives seem similar (weather system, day/night cycle, seasons...), the way NWeather works is radically different and much more optimized.

🔧 Stormfox 1 and 2 relied on heavy network entities on the server side, directly impacting bandwidth, CPU load and memory and dropping player fps on the client side. This often led to slowdowns and even crashes on busy servers.

🧠 NWeather[osgmod.com], on the other hand, has been designed to eliminate this problem entirely:
- It removes server-side entities from startup, because it doesn't need them.
- It manages everything on the client side, with an ultra-lightweight system based on a single synchronization number on connection.
It uses neither a server network nor a continuous physical entity, which means 0% server CPU load and 0% network bandwidth consumption, while reducing the RAM used by the removed entities.

By removing the various Soundscape entities from the map, it continues to optimize the client and server, which are unnecessary since NWeather provides its own Soundscape.

⚙️ NWeather's mechanism is not new, it has already proved its worth for 13 years in my Zworld-Afterlife gamemode, where the integrated weather system has never caused the slightest server crash, even with many simultaneous connections, so this isn't my first try with NWeather.

📌 So no, NWeather isn't “Stormfox 3”[osgmod.com] as we tend to hear these days. It's a modern, stable, standalone and far more powerful alternative, designed to guarantee RP immersion without compromising your server's stability.
