Team Fortress 2

Mobster VIP
A really detailed product, but it just doesn't belong
Firstly I want to mention how impressive it is that all of this was made. I can't imagine the amount of time and development that went into making this work. I just don't think this should be added officially though.

I find the design of the Mobster to be out of place in TF2 for a couple of reasons. His model is huge, he seems a lot bigger than the Saxton Hale model in VSH. With how big he is, it can be difficult trying to tell what he's doing with his small weapons. He's nearly the size of the Mancubus from Doom, but his weapon proportions are too small and not easy to read. His weapons get blocked by just how large the model is, and if you're playing beside or behind him you can't really tell what he's doing.

Moving on from the scale of the model, the amount of detail is somewhat off for the game. His face is much more detailed than the rest of the mercenaries and it should have been simplified in some way. He looks more reminiscent of characters in Overwatch and it just doesn't mesh well.

The way you get to play as the Mobster has a similar issue to the map Crasher. With the gun being placed in the same spot, teammates will stay in spawn until the current Mobster is killed and hope that they get it. Crasher has a similar issue, but I think it's somewhat worsened in VIP because only Blue team has access to the Mobster and that there is a timer. Crasher works better because both teams have the same opportunity to play as the giant, and without the timer more players are likely to get to try and play as the giant.

TF2 was designed for the 9 mercenaries in mind; I think that if any new game-modes are going to be added, they should be made for the mercenaries only

nah it does belong, adding new characters in mode is fine
also the mobster hardly looks like an overwatch character at all what
(feels like people will call anything tf2 content related overwatch now)
Fair argument, however, your mother.
FR though, I recognize the issues with how he works in the community maps, but I do believe he'd fit fine in base TF2 outside community servers, or at the very least keep 'em in community servers, but also in TF2C like the Civilian. While being the size of an exercise ball with 500hp & being taller than Heavy is a bit unnatural, & that he may be a bit OP honestly, I do believe that with a few more tweaks, he'll be an excellent addition.
the idea is horrible and was scrapped for a reason. You're right, OP.

Not really, the idea wasn't horrbile. It's just that valve implement it terrible and didn't bother to fix it or whatever, vip mode it in general fits tf2 and can work. Just got to make it work and fix the issues, which this version of the mode does (and tf2c too)

the scale of the model is kind of the point imo but i do agree the face looks oddly detailed compared to the rest of the tf2 cast

Yeah I don't think this is ever making into the game. Even the VA is not good.

The only issues with the original mod was that playing V.I.P was hell now you are basicly a stronger heavy.
gamemode and it's premise are fine in tf2 community servers. outside of them it's unnecessary, tf2 has already too many dead gamemodes and maps, which their environment are generic as halloween ones.
Big goofy mobster my beloved
