Frequently Asked Questions

I downloaded the mod, but is said 102Mb was downloaded, why isnt it 1.2Gb?
Steam downloads the files compressed. When all files are expanded on your computer, it will require about 1.2Gb of space.

I subscribed but cant find the mod, where is it?
The map mod is in your mods list with the name PIE42.
After the mod is enabled, start a solo game and choose one of the three Indiana spawn locations.

I started a game but it crashed, why?
Check if you have Taylorsville mod enabled. It can cause game to crash if loaded *after* this map. You will need to disable Taylorsville or change the load order to fix this. This problem is being looked into.

How do I get to Indiana?
There are two bridges, in Brandenburg and Louisville. You can also spawn in three town locations: Elizabeth, Georgetown and New Middletown.

Can this mod be added to an existing save?
Technically Yes, however it is not recommended unless you are comfortable moving and making changes to save game files outside of the game. Instructions for adding a map to a saved game.

What mods are compatible with Project Indiana Expansion?
Not compatible with ANY map mods ON or OVER the Ohio river. Maps outside that area should be compatible. Check the list of conflicts.

Why are there too many or not enough zombies?
B42 is going through some changes to the zombie spawn (heatmap) system. Once it is more stable, the spawn rates can be readjusted for different areas. Use sandbox settings to get your desired zombie density for now.

How big is the map?
There are more than 800 cells of map total, starting at 0,0 and filling all cells up to the established Ohio river on the vanilla map.
There are over 15 different towns and city locations to find and visit.

Are there basements?
No, basements are not implemented yet.

Is animal ranching added?
No. However you can bring in farm animals from KY or find them in a vehicle story (crashed truck with trailer scene)

Does foraging work?
Yes, foraging is implemented for the entire map.

Is there an interactive map?
No, not yet.

Is this the entire state of Indiana
No. This is a only very small portion of Indiana.

Does this map use custom tiles
No. The map is completely vanilla tiles.

Are there easter eggs?
Sort of. There are unique POIs around the map to find, but nothing super secret right now.
