Hey bud. I use a free program called Blender (www.blender.org) to make my 3d models and I use Photoshop to do the textures (Unfortunatly that isn't free but you can try anouther program called Gimp)

As far as education goes I would recomend going to www.cgcookie.com. They have a ton of educational videos there on getting to understand blender and other programs... While you may have to pay eventually, about a 1/3 of the videos are free to stream so you can watch the free videos for a while and see if you want to buy a subsciption to them.

Best of luck on you 3d journey ^_^

You use blender too for the weapon animations, and SFM for the video trailer, true?

My question is, how do you exported the finished 3d render to SFM? I can't find nothing about it

Actually, the animations for the poacher's pride were done in SourceFilmmaker itself, exported in SourceFilmmaker, and converted to game animations by Digivee.
