We don't use them because they are DLC locked. It's implausible to balance the game both with and without estates (which PDX has admitted but their fanbase cries every time they suggest unlocking estates for everyone to fix the problem) so we don't use them except in the hordes. There's all sorts of cool things I'd love to do with them, but that's a lot of work that not all players of the mod would enjoy.
