When I click to subscribe to a new mod, sometimes the steam client will say "downloading workshop content" which is the mod, but it doesn't actually download the data. Then when I go to the Skyrim Launcher's DATA section, the mod is not listed! To fix this issue, do the following to get it to work:


1) Go back to the mods home page and unsubscribe.

2) Then click subscribe again and the steam client should say "downloading workshop content"

3) Open the Skyrim Launcher and wait until it says "Finished Synchronizing subscribed mods"

4) click on DATA to see if the mod appears in the list.

5) If so, you're good to go! If not, shut down the Steam program (i.e Exit Steam).

6) Launch steam again and wait for it to finish booting up or whatever.

7) Open the Skyrim Launcher and wait until it says "Finished Synchronizing subscribed mods"

8) click on DATA to see if the mod appears in the list.

9) If so, you're good to go! If not, repeat steps 1-8 until the mod properly downloads and appears in the DATA section of the Skyrim Launcher.


I'm not sure why, but it appears like when the Steam Client runs into a problem downloading a mod, if you reset steam it tends to fix the problem. Sometimes though that's not enough and you need to cycle through subscribing and unsubscribing the mod (as explained above) to get it to work properly.

If anyone finds a cleaner way, feel free to post it here, this is just the method I found that works for me, so hopefully it works for others too! :)

I do all of this multiple times, and nothing seems to happen. I never get the workshop download, or the finished syncronizing messages. The mod never appears in my data. Does it just not work for the SE version?
