I am also looking to mod some of the stock maps to play better with the mod as well as tweaking the load out.
Now its obvious that it's not finished yet and i'm glad to hear that you guys are still working on it. The biggest issue i had while playing was something i'm not sure if you are even able to fix: the lag. Ever so often it would lag to the point that there was no fighting the undead horde and you got slaughtered. Quite anoying to say the least.
Other than that just some random ideas of mine:
perhaps make some changes to the maps to make them better suited for insurgenz, it would also be pretty cool if there were nighttime versions of each map to make things nice and scary. Even simply switching of all the lights on a map and giving the players nightvision googles would have a huge impact on the gameplay and make things feel really authentic.
Also, porting the survival mode to insurgenz in the same way you did it with checkpoint would be pretty sweet.
And finally, if possible it would probably be better to remove the bots ability to crouch, its kinda awkward when they do that and reduces the immersion.
Ok, thats all the suggestions from me for now, thanks a lot for your hard work guys and keep up the good work, already having a blast!
You should start us off with more points I think, for more weapons/equipment variety. It does get a bit stale after a little bit. Maybe revert it back to the old MP way of doing it if you can? Where everything still costs a point instead of +0 to most of the equipment.
Too much ammo, takes the challenge out of the game when you can basically shoot forever, a tactical zombie mode should be more about ammo conservation too (re-supply is kind of rendered useless and we get too many rockets). Otherwise, what's keeping us from just booting up Left for Dead? I think it's much more fun if we'd get limited ammo that requires us to be on point or at least strategize with other players. I still think the grenade count is okay, but having 10 rockets is a bit ridiculous as there is no load animation.
We need to at least add in night maps? This would make the game much more frightening and difficult.
If you could make the zombie A.I. jump whenever it's path is obstructed, I think that would help. I was pretty much invincible in certain areas where I could jump on a box.
Perhaps the zombies could get spawn waves? Like in multiplayer skirmish? Not really sure how one would do it but it would be nice to not simply kill an entire mob within the first few seconds and then not get zombies until you capture the checkpoint.
In some occasions zombies don't do enough damage. I remember being able to 'tank' about 4 or 6 zombies as they piled onto my hitbox. I was not shooting but was "Taking Damage" and not dying. While in other situations I would go down instantaneously without taking any sort of damage earlier. Not sure if this is a glitch or not.
I need to work on a sourcemod plugin to spawn the bots more gradually. They crush the server when all 48 spawn at once. That may take a little time to get done though.
The damage is done by a plugin that is currently set to 7, I will bump it up to 10 and see how it goes.
Thanks for the feedback
