9/10 tournament locations are either under ground in water or there are hills and ground all over the arena. Spawning some gladiators under ground and some above ground.

When your allied gladiators spawn under ground/in water the can't move unless there are enemies also under ground. Else they just stand still even though you're trying to command them to do otherwise.
