Just a future idea I'd like to work on if it's doable with EasyAPI, best used when implimented with the menu system once it's created.

Not sure on limitations for this but here is the general idea...

Navigation: Populate a list of GPS coordinates based on Beacons in range of antenna (aside from it's own beacon). These beacons would act like our modern day transponder systems and give the script it's location via it's name or some other factor. This script would have to be installed on each station, ship, and navsat/comsat as it would update the beacon with the current GPS coordinates of the beacon. (If none of that is possible at this time then populate list from an LCD. Player will have to input the names and GPS coordinates of each beacon manually.A populated list would be better as it would be more immersive in that you'd follow a path of NavSats which would be placed in order to allow ships to avoid crashing into objects like asteroids, wrecks, or abandond stations). Using the menus, select a target and script will align ship in direction of travel. Once ship is aligned the crew can then accelerate and pilot manually. This can also be valuable when combined with the FTL mod in the workshop as the ship will be aligned properly for FTL travel. The actual act of jumping to FTL would have to be performed and set by the crew because of the way the mod works.

Autopilot: With target selected and ship aligned, have a menu option to Engage Autopilot in which the script will accelerate the ship using all thrusters with the word "Aft" in their name. Every so often the script would check to make sure the ship is still on course and correct the course if needed before accelerating again. Based on a preset distance set in the code the ship would then decelerate and stop around that distance (give or take a few hundred meters or so for the deceleration process of each ship). That distance would be universal and used for every autopilot trip so as to prevent crashing into ships or stations.

Cool idea, but I don't think it's currently possible to communicate between ships or find beacons within range of an antenna using the API. I've wanted to be able to do that for a while. Maybe they will add it in tomorrows update, hehe.

Could still be done by populating a list from an LCD public text area though right?

I think so, as long as that means no communication between ships is necessary.
