Just gotta say I'm pretty excited about this map, it's easy to tell you have a good idea and you are able to bring it to life. I'm thinking a skybox that isn't quite as generic as the other ones. Most RP maps have a skybox with stock buildings or just stuff with low poly skyscrapers and whatnot, so I think a detailed skybox can really bring a whole map together.

I'm glad you like It! I'll look into high detailed skyboxes. I'm currently working on the bank in a separate hammer file. The skybox will be a last change type of thing after the map is finalized.
Why not add a smuggler hide out for police roleplay? I don't think many other maps would have this so it may be a start.

Looking great so far! Would love it if you could add a Fire Station to the map as well, I think many people would like this due to all the Photon Addons coming out.

I think that you should add a shopping mall with a few small shops seperate from the shops you already have planned. If you do choose to do a mall and it is possible, make it two floors with a open area in the middle. Also, it would be nice if you could add a post office to add to the roleplay aspect. Lastly, if you are reading this, thank you for taking your time and good luck on the map!

I think he means a type of hideout for persons engaging in illegal activities, smuggling for instance.

Perhaps there's a shady-type apartment building with a grimy basement, and there's a secret door by a water heater and you have to pull a lever on something (like a dummy electrical box) to open the secret door and then you're in the secret room for smugglers ans stuff.

An empty lot, and a destitute building of some kind, abandoned, condemened, and dangerous to walk through.

Actualy, if you could, you should add a day/night cycle to the map. (I do know that there is an addon already (Atmos) that adds this, but it doesn't work well with most maps. What I mean is a seperate addon (Like with the City 17 Industrial map day/night cycle addon.))

I only know of Atmos. I looked into making the map have its own day night cycle already built in but I didn't find much about the topic. If you could find some kind of tutorial or article about it, please send it my way.

EDIT: Yeah there really isn't a way of doing through the map itself as Hammer bakes the shadows and lights into the map, so having a live day/night cycle is not possible. I will try to make the map compatible with atmos.

I found the link to the day/night cycle used by the map I mentioned Here . It says that you can use it in your own map and gives instructions on how you do it.

So finally got it to work, and ill more than likely this as an alternate download option. I really like the idea of how you can trigger certain things depending on the time of day, but couldn't quite figure out how to set that up with the logic_relay. Other con of the script is that I cant buildcubemaps with it. No cubemaps means no nice reflections. Since it doesnt use a traditional skybox, I cant build the cubemaps. I usually open up the map in css to build those because garrys mod always crashes when I try to build them.

So, its a cool idea. I'll probably, like I said, make it available later once im done with the map.

If I remember reading that you wanted to change the police station basement correctly, you should have an armory/target range, lockers/shower, and evidence room.
