How to make the grass work
You need to add Day of Defeat to the Search path.

How to do the thing-
  1. Install the Day of Defeat content pack.
  2. Launch the SFM SDK.
  3. Find the "Mod" section.
  4. Click "Edit Search Paths..."
  5. Tick dod.
  6. Close and relaunch SFM.
  7. Load the map.
If this fails your SFM has a different problem.
