Don't Starve Together

Wisp, Wynter & Wei: DST!

SUGGESTION BOX
Gimme your suggestions!

Things to keep in mind:

- I'm mostly looking to add more items (however many) for the next major update.
- If you find any character super hard or super easy or if you just have a neat idea, tell me and I'll take it into consideration!
- New animations have been requested multiple times, this might be something I do in the future, but not something I have the time to do now, idk.

- This is something I work on in my freetime for no money. Like most mods, it takes a lot of time to work on, a lot of skill to make and it is a present to all of you. I only know so much about LUA and I mostly add or edit things based on concensus from you guys, so a lot of your ideas or preferences I may not be able to make or may not be able to fit in. Stay respectful to both me and all the people who do enjoy and will be enjoying this mod. (and all other mods and modders. Be nice, y'all.)

- I'm pretty active on here; even if I don't respond to your comment in particular, I HAVE read it and AM taking it into consideration. Thank you <3

CURRENT SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS I'M CONSIDERING/WORKING ON:
[ ] - not done | [✓] - completed, but not yet updated

Character tweaks:
- [ ] Wei's nightvision altered through colorcubes, rather than additional light, also make it only work for single player, instead of apparent glow for everyone.
- [ ] Add either an innate fishing or catnap attribute to Wynter
- [ ] Fix Wisps petal eating and fix craft menus
- [ ] New secret character!

Item additions:
- [ ] Make Bug Collar and Bell collar alter how certain enemies react to you. May make bell collar allow for ghost followers instead of defending against them.
- [ ] Maybe more foods? Idk, I'm pretty fine with what I got.
- [ ] More kitty clothes, not sure what yet, just more than only collars
- [ ] Add physics to hairball barfs
- [ ] Add new sound effects for new item-related events (have sounds done for the bell collar, but not sure how to get it working right :U)

Major additions:
- [ ] Catnip (OMG CATNIP HIGH THIS COULD BE A HILARIOUS THING YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HATE ME FOR IT)
- [ ] Unique catcoon interactions (Not sure what yet, exactly. Currently considering simply making them 'conversational partners')

For the sake of making it compatible with mods that add aditional equipment slots such as this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=375850593&searchtext=

Would it be too much to ask to make the collars and bows be considered as amulets instead of armor?

I'd need to look into it, but yeah that's totally reasonable, I can do that!

Wynter should be fluffier xD (well thats my poor suggestion)

wynter loses sanity to fast with his hairball problem, you should reduce the sanity loss to 10 instead like that she does not go crazy to fast in the begining of the game. (or you make a collar that reduces the sanity loss or gain sanity a lot faster.

Already think the mod is perfect.
Though maybe a clothing idea: Cat mittens/socks.
What it does: Because wearing them makes less sound as you walk around, enemies their detection range of you is smaller.

A downside could be that your claws do not work with them on.

Not sure if you can actually make items that function as feet/paw wear though.

So, most recipes need "milk" to be made which is basically non existant in DST, that doesn't affect most of them with one exception. Fresh Ricotta takes up to three milks or butters to make and Milk doesn't really exist and Butter is insanely hard to get.

Maybe there should be another alternative for Fresh Ricotta? because as it stands right now it is insanely hard to make for it to be worth it.

Yeah, I know, I've been trying to think of an alternative, but really only milk and some kind of souring agent is relevant for making cheese <_> maybe I can think of a way to harvest butter or milk or simply make it occur more frequently? Idk. I could turn milk into a drop from certain animals, like beefalo, though.

So I looked into how this mod worked to see if I could add the attributes to make them work better here, but learned that I can't unless I basically insert the entire mod into mine, which I really don't feel comfortable doing without the creator's okay, and don't want to do if it would require forcibly adding new slots to this mod.

Wynter goes insane way too fast with those -20 sanity hairballs. Give them a break, at most to 10.

@CowboyPunk some feedback on WEI and WISP - I think you need to buff up the health a little bit :) even the girly characters have at least 100-130 health. 75 is very low. When you die once and they revive you your max health becomes 55. You have to wear helmet or armor 24/7 cuz you can die in seconds if you make one wrong move :) With 55 health you dont have motivation to continue playing :)

Maybe WISP needs like 100-110 health WEI like 110-120 because WEI hits a lot slower.

Also for WEI you can balance the nightvision by the cost of increased sanity loss if you travel during the night. In this way you dont ignore the night and the player can deside what to he wants do to stay by the fire or to go ham and travel during the night at the cost of going crazy :) WEI is noot good with the nerves anyway. A walk in the dark forest mut be very stressful.

Great job on the Cat Trio i like them very much :)

Wynters sanity drop is a bit difficult, especially due to all the rain during spring.

It would be nice if they could eat grass (since most cats do), and maybe gain a small amount of hunger.

They should be able to fight without a weapon! At least Wynter and Wisp. Perhaps Wisp could have a nice perk for fighting with her own claws, a small sanity gain perhaps?

More cute stuff! A scratching post? A cat bed?
cosmicowl 28 Apr, 2015 @ 7:32am
It would also be nice if they could catch fish in a pond without a fishing pole (much like the Gollum mod for DST)
CowboyPunk  [developer] 29 Apr, 2015 @ 9:12pm
We're looking into innate fighting, fishing and napping options, and I will def alter the rain-insainity, I just need to get a chance to do some more testing to get a better feel for it!
Munchybubbles 17 May, 2015 @ 4:19pm
Been mentioned before, but a configuration option would be amazing to disable/enable certain traits to tweak the difficulty to be easier or harder for each character.
