Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2

The Texan Heatmaker
might need a nerf?
It seems to over powerd in my eyes and unfair to spys.
I don't know is it just me?

Just make it a ridiculously weak flamethrower so we won't see engis running around lighting people on fire, but keep its ability to repair buildings.

Nope. It's just you. If you want to say this is "unfair" to Spies, then anyone else can argue that the entire Pyro class is unfair to Spies.

I think it could use a bigger damage penalty... Maybe about 50% but have a bit more afterburn time.. Or reduce the range to about half of a flamethrower... Mainly because I see this more as a spychecking gizmo.

The pyro is meant to be"unfair" to spies, in the same way that spies are meant to be "unfair" to engineers

i think giving any class the ability to burn apart from the pyro is wrong. i want the huo-long heater out of the game to. spies are a way of life for heavies and engies, deal with it. there should be a razorback equivalent for these two classes, though.

razorback is for idiots who are not situationally aware enough to turn around, not to mention any spy with half a brain will just take out their revolver and shoot you. something like the jarate, where they have to notice the spy and take action, and get more uses other than just dealing with some rage spy would be more appropriate, and this is exactly that.

also, the heater is only useful against spy-cicle users that don't know how to jump

I think it only gives engi's a slight advantage, but i see your point.

Its to op man. Basicly you can get a medic to heal you and go on a rampage.

the extra fire damage alone needs a nerf, but the extra fire speed is just bad. if it was to be nerfed i would make the damage about -25 from the normal pistol.

I am hypothesizing that the same thing that happened to the short circuit will also happen to this weapon if makes its way into the game.

Yeah...Its looks soo far so good but...it might be kinda useless...I think it should also repair stuff too?
Well, considering it's a blowtorch, and it would be somewhat realistic, even though TF2 really ins't realistic all that much to begin with, the range of this weapon would be around a foot or less, which is a large hinderance.

Imagine a spy came up and missed his backstab, but the engineer noticed him. The time it takes for the engineer to actually notice the spy and turn around would likely be enough time for the spy to make a hasty retreat with little to no damage done to himself. Even then, the spy could easily pull out his revolver and pop a cap in dat engi. Depending on the revolver and the skill of the player, this could realatively overpower the engineer and his shotgun, as long as there isn't someone else around to come to the rescue. Plus a spy with a spy-cicle or dead ringer, which I would asume a lot of shpees have, would be able to make an escape with likely ease.

Even though it's just my opinion, and opinions aren't allowed on the internet apparently, I think it would be a wonderful addition to the game.
