Arma 3
Dynamic Universal War System - Rebirth
Future Progress
Thanks for the reboot. I edited the old mission myself before to fit my communities needs and I see you have made this update. Bravo and thanks! Just some questions.

Q1. What are you future plans for this? Are you going to progress and add missions or do anymore updates...stuff like that.

If you are...Q2: Could you swap the VAS for the BIS Aresonal? I find it to be better but either work for me.

If not I will just have to customize this for our needs again. I really appreciate the update

@Seabear69s I apologize. I didn't see this until just now...

A1: I honestly want to make DUWS-R a great base for any other future mods. I really want to get some of the bugs I've noticed squashed and add some more side-missions / features as my skills increase. As for a future road-map I'm really trying to run the project very similar to SCRUM for software development. This is probably because I'm a software developer by trade and I really see the power of SCRUM and it's ability to pivot rapidly.

Quite honestly I view DUWS-R as the communities mission, not mine. I just currently hold the keys because I pushed it out to Steam but I really have the least code in the mission. I put the code up on GitHub so that anyone can make contributions. I'm involved in about 5 projects right now so my time to any one is pretty limitied. I really hate to see such a fantastic mission as the original DUWS fall into disuse since no one maintains it.

A2: There is actually a PR that is waiting on some feedback to be addressed to allow both VAS and BISA. Hopefully this will be in the next release, if not I would be very surprised if it missed v0.3.0.

I hope that answers your questions.

Yes that does answer most of it. I appreciate it. I have very little understanding in code but I can pick it up. I plan on using a version on a dedicated machine so at this time I am currently trying to find a way to change if from the "Host" has to set the random point to the player 1 in Alpha 1-1 sets position. Once I get that, if I ever do, I would be happy to pass the information along to help everyone else. If you already know lemme know :p

Again, Thank you!

:-D Not a problem at all. There is a branch of code linked below that has some dedicated server work baked in. I haven't tested it at all honestly so I don't what your milage will be with it :-). If you're in the US I am usually idleing in IRC on afternet.org in #DUWS-R and #DUWS-R-Devs if you need some assistance on how to pack your own PBO.

The version of the code I linked below was built by someone that doesn't really understand git and is about 10 hours ahead of me so we don't get much time to talk. I /think/ that the code is incompatible with people not playing on a dedicated server... That said I've been trying to find time to really look at the code and understand it so I can make it work with SP, MP and Dedicated Servers.

Honestly, don't feel bad that you don't understand the code for ARMAs scripting language. I've been writing software professionally for about 10 years now and I'm learning it as I go :-).

Aw yes. Thank you. Will try this out as soon as I can.

Okay...I loaded that on the server and I waited like 5 minutes but it never let me place the zones. Am I missing something simple? I searched and searched the github and couldn't turn anything up. Hopefully you have a direction for me.

Again, Thanks.

@Seabear69s The dedicated server code assumes defaults for everything I believe. I apologize but I'm pretty new to SQF myself so I'm still trying to figure out what is going on in that branch myself. I just haven't had time to really look at it.

Okay. I was looking at the code all night lol I was like "...tomorrow..." haha. If I figure it out, I will do my best to regurgitate it back to you.
