After a bunch of tries to work through it, it finally triggered properly on an attempt where I had run the level through from the jump away from mission 1 (think I saved just before the Mothership hit the black hole), then a clean run from there, with a bunch of Repair stuff ready to go. Healed to 25% health status as per objective, but made sure to do it before the audio about hitting the asteroid plays.
Then the Mothership accidentally ran into some frigates that were in front of it, stopped moving and sat there for like, 2 full minutes. I kinda gave up thinking it was broken again, but then at around 40%-ish health the cutscene suddenly kicked in, surpising the hell out of me. All fine from there.
So not knowing anything about the code, I'm guessing you have to heal it to 25% before that 'brace for impact' dialogue plays to hit the trigger. Maybe there was another trigger after that point, which is broken now. Dunno. Seems necessary to make sure you have 7 repairers and three support modules before you enter mission 2. Maybe the movement mechanics bugged out on this run, maybe they didn't...
...but after running it that many times I really don't want to run it again and see which variable it was, I'm just glad I don't have to do it again now, haha. Loving it, but it is a bit of a slog to get through at some points. Some mechanics are a bit too fragile at a few points for, y'know, stability purposes. Bloody fun apart from that, though.
Mission 1 is a huge waste of time due to bad script and ideas. Sounds like creator never tried play it by himself or he just missed the whole problem, because he already knew the whole story and scripts and knew the future so he was preparing properly for every single step.
Mission 2 - I know how survive asteroids.
Just press ESC to not waste time (when they speak their boring long dialogue while Mothership is already spinning into asteroids).
This will allow you to take control on production much faster, before Mothership reaches first asteroid. CLICK immediatelly SCAVENGER. Build Patchers. Send Collectors to harvest,
Once Scavenger pops out, use DRILLING MISSILES.
They will clear way. The key to win is to not allow Banana being hit by those small asteroids on the way - every hit resets your repair progress and that's why you aren't able to repair ship on time before reaching a close point, when "IMPACT IS IMMINENT".
Once your ship will be at 50% it will slow down, stop rotate and...stop. Take your time then, gather reources, repair to end etc.
Then script kicks in again (when you kill last 3 small asteroids on the way before main huge rock) and makes comedy - You MOthership will start move again into asteroid, you will get radio message Impact imminent! and then out of blue Oh, repaired! Huurah!.
They key advice also - Move your Scavenger close from asteroid to asteroid before every drill missile activation to make you, it hits that asteroid, not other.
ALSO BEST TIP: DOCK PATCHERS, SUPPORT MODULES AND COLLECTORS into Banana before ending Mission 1 !!! You will carry them into MIssion 2 instead needing to build them again. I was lucky, that I just foresaw that better to think like having Homeworld 1 campaign, save units inside mothership.
I am preparing the whole article breaking down 1st mission and showing all hilarious story & strategy/commanding plot holes.
I love the concept, the idea, however - Complex Evo Campaign project looks like abandoned in a middle of creation and published - not surprising as Complex is being dropped for a new, standalone game called Era One. Eh. Good luck then!
Campaign is blasphemously badly scripted and designed, all messages come also waaay too late or are lacking KEY informations, it's also a bit bugged. It's not finished, well prepared project.
Bro. I literally have a ♥♥♥♥ load of pulsar fighter squadrons. Asteroids are LONG GONE before i even reach the first one. Then i have a ton of support modules and patchers are just being pumped out.
IT LITERALLY WONT TRIGGER.. WHEN I DO DESTROY THE ASTEROID THE WHOLE GAME JUST BRICKS. I MANAGED TO DESTROY THE ASTEROID WITH A COMPOSITE SHIELD BUT IT JUST BRICKED THE GAME AND WOULDN'T PROGRESS.
Tried only clearing out the small asteroids and repaired well above 400k/1500k hp with 7x Patchers & 4 Support Modules. No dice... Mothership either crashes into the asteroid if i let it or stays unresponsive.
For the love of god, triggers...
