Mod not laucnhing
first I doubt this has anything to do with shader 2 as my computer is not old and has run pretty much every modern game so far, also i just updated my drivers yesturday so nothing wrong with that. When I select the mod and launch the game my screen flickers black like its going to launch but then flickers again and comes back to the desktop with no crash notification and no dumps in the folder.

See if you can add an older driver for your graphics card to your HW2 classic directory as described in this thread: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/244160/discussions/0/617328967245250581/

It worked for me and i had the same problem.

I have the same problem.
I also had the issue w/ the classic version not launching, but I fixed that with the .dll fix... so now I can get the classic HW2 to launch, but NOT this mod.

Which really bums me out.

Having a similar issue here, but instead of crashing immediately it hangs up and stops responding on the first load (before the GB splash) and has to be closed manually.

Seems like it is hanging on the intro movie, I noticed that the game doesn't play it (because it's not in the HW2C/data/animatics folder).

If you use the "-nomovies" option in the Steam launch options and then select the mod in the launcher normally, that might work?

Thanks for the info, I'll give that a shot.

Nope, doesn't work.

Unfortunately, that didn't work for me either.

the -nomovies cmd worked for me on my win7 machine but did not on my win 8.1 machine.

Hm... I have 8.1 as well. I guess that's most likely the problem.
