I just made a colony in Brazil, and the flag stayed the same as its mother country. I exited the game and restarted the game to see if that helped, but no dice. Figured you might want to know about it. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Can't colonyze anything, the colonist always gets back... Also when the colony comes into existence i still have the cores, whereas in original game colony gets the provinces cored and i loose them.

I have just run several tests based on your two reports, and I cannot replicate your bugs. As far as I can tell everything is working as normal.

@alidarjarok2
A colonial nation only gains territory once you have one core province in a colonial region, and it can take up to a month for your colonial nation to take your land from you, due to the way the events work.

@Sir Salt, I cannot replicate my colonist being returned, for me colonists work as normal. As I stated above, once your colonial nation is created it can take up to a month for it to take its territroy from you.

Very odd. Every time I make a new Colonal Nation the flag never chages to the colonal flag.

After reading this post and re-reading your original post, I now understand your original meaning. Your colonial nation will have the same flag as its overlord because it's created in a colonial region, and then annexes the "correct" territroy and returns the land in the colonial region to the natives. Since it doesn't have any territroy in its original colonial region anymore, it loses the colored half of the flag.
This is entirely Paradox's problem, there's nothing I can do to fix it at this time.

I hope that clears up any confusion.

You sir are awesome. Sorry I was not clear enough. Thanks for your answer.

I think it's because the mod is incompatible with save games? I just loaded my previous save (which was saved without this mod). When I start a new game everything is fine. Anyway cool mod, thanks!

I found that this mod is compatible with Beyond+, it just causes issues. When you look at the Colonial Regions, you find that the colonial regionns are in the provinces created by Beyond+

This seems like a pretty amazing mod, but unfortunatly it broke the search for the seven cities feature added by El Derado. The tool tip suggests that EU4 only allows a conquistador to do this search in colonial regions, which this mod removes. I don't know if you can remedy this, but it is an unfortunate loss. On the bright side, explorer exploration missions seem to be unaffected.

I have around 7 of the provences in colonial west africa, they're all cored, and its been around 5 years game time and nothing?
Freakbob 28 Apr, 2015 @ 3:56pm
On the first play through its just not forming, all cored provences years of waiting but nothing https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=433226422

On the second one, instead of forming a colonial nation it became a provence for some reason https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=433920563

Thank you for posting those screenshots.

I have not been able to replicate your bug, however the fact that you are in possession of "CNWestAfrica" makes me believe that your issue is likely a conflict with another mod, or if not, then a modified defines file.

CNWestAfrica is a dummy province in a colonial region and you should have near-immediately have had a colonial nation form from it if your defines file was working correctly.

Hello. I've run into what seems to be a bug.
I'm playing Portugal and I have 5 colonies in Brazil which have already turned into cities. The option to make it a colonial nation or not didn't come up, and It's been many months since all those colonies became cities.

Now these may be a conflict with other mods, the only one I use that could potentially do this is "1356 - A timeline extension mod". But I didn't find any reason for it.

After a bit of trying I changed the defines.lua line "max_crown_colonies" to 4 instead of 0 but still nothing happened.

any thoughts?

EDIT: neither the colonial regions map (like you stated) or the trade company regions map show any regions anywhere in the world.

EDIT 2: I did a few tests and I found out that if I delete the folder "colonial regions" from the mod folder, the colonial regions work like if there was no mod at all (so no decision/event triggers). I don't mind playing with the vanilla colonial regions, the main thing is having the event triggering.

Thank you

It would seem that colonial nations have been removed from the game, the colonial region map-mode shows nothing and the colonial regions file in the mod has only one province for each region
Delincious  [developer] 22 May, 2015 @ 5:38pm
@Master of Times the most telling thing from your post is the lack of regions being shown in the world, which would mean there is likely a conflict in some of the map files between this mod and another. Such conflicts are unlikely to be resolvable easily.

@PositiveFive, I will copy-paste this from the FAQ section of the modpage:

Q: Where are the colonial regions!?!? The mapmode shows nothing!

A: The colonial regions mapmode is, unfortunately, not useful with this mod. Use the "Trade Company Regions" mapmode instead. Each trade company region is identical to the region for your Colonial Nations. The "Regions" mapmode also now lists colonial regions.
