Suggestions (and update planning)
Don't leave suggestions in the comments - read this post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone,

Now that the mod seems to be stable enough, I want to start taking note of your suggestions on how to improve it. Some of you have already left suggestions here and there but I think the best approach is to have them in a centralized place where everyone can see, comment and vote on them.

Please remember that a suggestion is nothing more than that - a *suggestion*. Leaving your suggestion does not mean that I will ever make it, even if it has 5364867465767 votes. I will decide what features to implement based on time, complexity and viability. Also, I may postpone any idea that I think will be developed by CO in a future update to prevent spending time on a feature that gets replaced soon after.

Without further ado, here's the link for the suggestion box: http://www.tricider.com/brainstorming/3H2pYDGYg2F

I've also decided to create a sort of schedule for updates. The goal is to keep weekends mod-safe for you to play without worries. With this in mind, I will start releasing updates in a weekly/bi-weekly fashion and always at the start of the week (monday/tuesday). Although I have less time to fix bugs during the week, it should give me enough time to fix them or to revert back before the weekend.
Having said that, I will continue to release features as beta test options. This also decreases the chances of the mod completely breaking. If you have any problem with a beta test, you can report it here in the respective update discussion and then disable the option to keep playing.

Thank you all for your support and suggestions!

Could you include "no left turn" and "traffic control lights" in this mod?

Could you incorporate the changes (as an option) or allow compatibility with this mod ? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=406951430

What about this mod:

I think you and this mod creator should work together as this two mod are to good to pass on.

Your mod currently adds a road type that includes bus lanes.

Is it possible to add a new road type (a busway) that only allows buses? The purpose of this would be to allow buses to travel rapidly from a transit hub out to suburban areas without being slowed by traffic. We have these in Brisbane and I'd love to see them in the game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busways_in_Brisbane

My suggestions for busway road types:

Two-lane busway: Similar in appearance to the standard two-lane road, but only allows buses. Highway-like speeds. Similar to highways, it does not form pedestrian crossings at intersections (a pedestrian ramp is required). Does not allow parking.

One-way busway: one-way variant of the above.

Low-noise busway: Decorated variant of the above, has acoustic barriers that reduce noise pollution.

Four-lane busway: Similar in appearance to the four-lane road (has center divider). This would be useful for busy sections of busway, or for cosmetic use to build busway stations.

Only buses and emergency vehicles (with sirens on) may enter a busway.

Is there a way to delete completed suggestion on Tricider? Two-way busway is done.

Hi TerrorBite,

That type of road has been added as beta test on the last update.
Please use the link on the first post for your other suggestions and vote on the ones you like.

Hi,

I would rather mark it as done so people see that I'm keeping a close eye on the suggestions - I was thinking of doing the oneway six-lane instead of the busway until I saw it in there with so many votes - but I'm not sure there's an option for that. I'll delete it if there's no other way.

Edit: Take a look. Is that okay?

I beraly noticed "Added on April 14th update" sign. Maybe massive DONE image attached to task? That should be more visible :)

Nice idea. It should be noticeable now :)

Is there a way to generate an editable config file that users could use to control some of the road behaviors for each type? Examples I'm thinking about are the road's speed limit, whether it creates lights at intersections by default, whether it allows delivery trucks &/or pedestrian traffic, whether or not the roadside is zonable... these are mostly things that the mod does or changes in some way already, so hopefully it wouldn't be too terrible to add in customizability.

Not yet ;)

I found trouble to customize the streets . Can u randomize options for all roads and not change 1 by 1?

Thanks

(Thank you for your reply in the other thread)
Suggestion: The Traffic Manager Mod has a nice feature "Clear Traffic" that does exactly that: it clears all traffic ;) It would be nice to have in traffic++ too (especially when paired with the no despawn mod) because if you really messed up traffic and have a city wide traffic jam you can despawn all traffic and "try again" and even more important, if you change lanes etc., you can clear traffic and the new set of rules applies instantly to the new spawning cars. No more waiting and guessing if new rules already apply or not.
