Errors and Crashes Reporting
- The errors are behaviours of the game/mod, that we consider that they're not working as I have described on the main description of the mod.
- The crashes are issues that happens more than one time, and we think that the mod is crashing the game, because when the mod is disabled it doesn't happen.

The way to report some errors/crashes is filling the follow information:

OS - Windows/ OSX/ Linux
Mods Enabled - List of the mods that you have enabled
Configuration - How is the autosave configured.
Log - The file log of our game ( in the description of the mod, you have the instructions to enable it ).

For the log and config file, you can upload the files to some file hosting or just paste them here, if they're not so long.

Im sorry to say I am a user who is recently getting crashes that look a lot like they are caused by saves by this mod. It feels like I get them less when I turn off FPS-style mods.. but that is probably coincidence.

here's the crash section from my most recent output_log (with some context leading up to it):

CSLAutosave.log this time is empty (I emptied it since last crash) .. but I have seen it before and nothing looks unusual in it.

Is this a cloud save or just a local save?

I see some problem related with the Chirper. Do you have any mod related with that? ( This can cause perfectly the crash )

This is an error that is getting a player without using the mod and using the mod. If someone has the same problem, feel free to join the conversation :)

Letting Off H20 hace 6 horas I re-subscribed to the mod and am now getting this error: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at CSLAutosave.SaveManager.Initialize (IThreading threading, System.UInt32[] slots) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at CSLAutosave.ModSaver.OnUpdate (Single realTimeDelta, Single simulationTimeDelta) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ThreadingWrapper.OnUpdate (Single realTimeDelta, Single simulationTimeDelta) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at SimulationManager.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1) on creating a new City... Letting Off H20 hace 7 horas OK, found the cause... there was a folder called "CSLAutosave" under "C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods" and in it was a file called "CSLAutosave.ini". Deleteing this folder and file has made error message go away with the mod uninstalled. Letting Off H20 hace 7 horas Oh and the Terrsform Tool 0.8 is giving the same problem. Only these two mods causing it though... Letting Off H20 hace 7 horas I tried resubscribing... still get the error. Then unsubscribed via the in game Content Manager ans still got the eiir afterwards!!?! Can't see ant files left over in the folders so no idea what's going on! This error is generated when just running the game, before even loading/creating a City! Letting Off H20 hace 7 horas It's actually bizarre as I unsubsribed to your mod but I'm still getting this error message?!?! Very odd... o0kami [autor] hace 9 horas @Letting Is it a fresh installation? Is it the first time that you install the mod? Or it started to happen suddenly? Where it happens? I need more information, because with that it doesn't tell me anything. In case that something is not working and you want to help this mod. You can enable the log file in the mod and it would be really helpfull to solve problems.

Hi!

1. Why you want to set the number of slots to 0? If you set slots to 0, you simply are not creating any save. So it doesn't have any sense in that way. If you can explain me better that question, we will understand each other and I'm sure that I will be able to help you much better :)

2. If I understand correctly, you want that only one save work at one.

Example: if we have a save every 5 minutes, a second every 30 minutes and another every 90 minutes. Only the one that saves every 90 minutes will work, and the rest simply will be ommited.

Am I right? If that's the request, nowadays it isn't possible to do that ( because it isn't programmed, of course ), and I will push this improvement, because it's a really interesting feature for other players that think like you :)

Hi tcgames65!

I'm going to start with the improvement that you request, that you can choose to skip a save game if another is running.

About the log file. You need to create a fine named "CSLAutosave.log" in the same folder where is located the "CSLAutosave.ini". After that, the next time you will run the game, the mod will write the log in the file.

I'm getting crashes on my game when playing for quite a while, when it does manage to create a crash report it seems to point to an overflow error. I'm coming to you because it seems to occur when the autosaves start, indicating that perhaps an autosave is causing an overflow error.

Here's a couple of the crash reports it has made, I've only just created the CSLAutosave.log so can't post that yet.

Sorry you are have the problem, he has logged off and should see this when he comes back. Might try changing the amount of saves for now and see if that helps or maybe turn it off for now and wait for him to check it out.

I checked the logs.

Both crash are related with ImprovedTransportMod when it's saving. Some corrupted data or something not handled properly.

Of course, this mod makes the request to save, but the problem comes from that mod. I suggest to you to contact with the creator of that mod.

I've contacted the developer of the other mod and he is saying that the issue may stem from the game not being paused when it is autosaving. Normally you press escape and save the game manually but with the Autosave mod, the game is still running. He thinks this causes the issue with his mod.

Is there a flag I can add to the CSLAutosave.ini config to momentarily pause the game, autosave and then unpause?

Hi there!

I'm sorry, there's any flag on the config to do that. Also, I'm not going to implement it, just because the other developer "feels" that the reason of his mod's errors, comes from save the game without pause.

You can also use the fastsave hotkey, without pause the game, and it's the same that does this mod ( like using the fastsave every 15 minutes, for example ). So there's a way to save the game without pause it.

The answer from the other developer, it's just throw away the ball, and that's not fair for the end users. It's a situation that he didn't contemplate and it should be. So it isn't a excuse to not fix that bad behaviour.
