Advanced Mod: Revived - multiplayer?

curious if anyone was able to play mutiplayer via Steam with HW2 classic and this mod.

I have tried to play via steam. I can see games in the lobby. when i try to connect to the game my friend has hosted, or when he tries to connect to the game I have hosted we see a 'connecting' window but never connects. We have been able to play HWR w/o any mods just fine.
