Also, some spells are really cheap(like the acid splash one, rot+stingers). The wizard is supposed to be hard, a bit like wes in vanilla, a challenging character.
Ah, I don't normally think og Wizard's as the challenge class in that way. I normally think that Wizards will be challenging in that you have to choose the right spell for the right situation. I just keep finding that the only spell I get to use is my starting Magic Missile, as the other level 1 spells just seem to hard to build (even Nightmare Fuel is tough when you can't really fight).
As for Acid Splash, a Bee has 100 health. That's 5 hits with the Magic Missile. We'd need to kill about 12 bees for 10 stingers. So that's 60 shots. We couldn't even make two of those spells before the Magic Missile broke, and the acid splash wouldn't even get to the point of recreating itself if you purely fought the bees. That's the sort of thing where I think the balance needs tweaked a little.
Huh, so the funny thing about that is that this mod has shifted my attitude MORE towards needing to kill everything, since that's the primary way to get exp. I get xp for blasting a bunny, but not for trapping one. I get xp for killing a hound, but not for leading them to their deaths amond the beefalo. So would it be possible to add alternative ways to get xp then? (Besides prototyping, you can only do that so many times).
Oh wow, I've played this for years and thought that you could only capture rabbits with that.
Are there any robes/hats that don't require the alchemy table then? Or is there a trick to getting the alchemy table easier? Cause taking down the treant with a wizard does not seem like something I'be be likely to be able to do if I'm trying to boost my lower level spells.
