This is NOT a bad thing. It's great. I just wanted to point that out.
Loot is vast. In normal difficulty it seems to be plentiful although low quality. I am still low on munition despite raiding at least three military facilities. I have yet to find a full military suit.
I did however find at least three NVG. So I guess I can see everything all the time.
I've not seen enough of the map however to point out PvP. I will assume that there are probably locations that are well hidden enough to allow a innovative player to hide their gear almost indefinitely.
I have also not died, so I can't mention any but one spawn near a shipping dock. Which was absolutely filled with the dead. I grabbed several colts from drops, although the munition was spent quickly. It may be advisable to change zombie loot to give less firearms and instead drop clothing, food, and water. Albeit rarer then currently.
